Some of the things I have been making!

10 Mar

I have not posted on this blog for ages, but I have been busy sewing and making all sorts of things, so I thought I would share a few.

I had a bit of an accident with one of my daughters favourite cushions and I shrank it! I couldn’t throw it away so I made this little cushion cover with it.

Parcels in the post

23 Oct

I had a busy weekend packing up parcels

And then I had a lovely surprise through the post

It is an exciting new kit from Kollabora a fantastic website that sells complete kits for all types of craft. They supply you with the patterns, fabric, threads and anything else you might need. They have sent me a FREE kit to try and blog about.

So I chose a sewing kit, although I could have had knitting or jewellery making. This is what came in my kit

I can’t wait to start making it, and I will let you all see the results as soon as I have.

My First Ever Quilt!

15 Oct

Here is a picture of my first ever attempt at making a quilt, I made it for my little nephew who was Christened on Sunday.

I used the ABC 123 Moda Jelly Roll available from Trixie Lixie

The backing fabric is from the Moda Oh Deer range also available from Trixie Lixie  and the bias binding is a new product that we are stocking and will be available as soon as I get a chance to put it on to the website!

Here is the gorgeous James on his new quilt!

Kitsch ipad case and matching iphone case

10 Sep

I made this rather kitsch set of gadget cases today for my daughter.

I have posted a tutorial if you want to make one on my other blog trixielixiesblog.com

You can buy these from my Folksy shop, click on the link at the top on the right!

Two little skirts

21 Jul

I had lots of small pieces of fabric left over from other projects so I thought I would make a couple of summery skirts for my two smallest nieces. It also gave me the opportunity to practise with my new gathering foot for my serger. To finish them off I have trimmed them with contrasting gingham ribbon.

13 Jul

I am a bit of a collector and really love anything retro or vintage, when I saw this child’s sewing machine on Ebay I had to have it to add to my vintage sewing collection. Isn’t it fabulous, I think I could probably get it to work, it just needs a needle.

It is sitting on a little set of drawers that I rescued from a skip at the Museum where I work. I will be putting them both to good use as props for images to go on my Trixie Lixie website when it launches in a couple of weeks.

More knickers

8 Jul

Today I made some more knicker’s they are quite quick and easy to make and you only need a small piece of fabric so I think I will be making loads more. One pair of these I will keep, the other pair are going onto my Folksy site so if any one wants to buy them use the link on the right.

Spotty Knickers

7 Jul

Today I made some spotty knickers, after making the French knickers I thought I would give ordinary pants a go, they were surprisingly easy once I had worked out the pattern pieces.
